Royal Oak Reception

So recently we did a Royal Oak wedding reception. My only gripe about this Michigan city is loading and unloading the DJ equipment. Parking in this city on a Saturday night is a PITA. It is a pain to setup for a reception in this city. Loading zones are tow away zones, which means you have to have someone watching your vehicle. Since the city has so many people, you have to pay to park in a lot. I was a light jog away from D’Amatos where the reception was taking place. I guess that there was this huge concert on the same block (for some band I never even heard of, but 2,000 people showed up), so parking was pretty much non-existent. We were prepared for this, so we had no problems with any of the above : )
This reception rocked, Miranda and Dick had California rolls for part of the horderves. This is always a fun finger food for guests. Some people at your event might never of had sushi before. This gives them a great excuse to try something new at your party. To all brides considering California rolls or a sushi bar, they are finger food approved in our book!
We did some pretty cool things for Miranda and Dicks wedding and ceremony DJ. They got our going to the chapel package which provides your officiate with wireless technology so that everyone can hear you exchange your vows. We work closely with your officiant and other vendors this was everything flows smoothly. Since we were also playing music for the ceremony, they choose Jet Are You Gonna Be My Girl for the recessional. It was so different, that guests loved the high energy vibe. Now how cool is that?
We set up a couple of accent lights that worked well with the atrium at D’Amato’s. Just to let you know, D’amato’s is a Jazz & Martini Bar affiliated with Goodnight Gracie’s. Their banquet space is very small and intimate. If you are planning an event with less than 100 people, this might be the perfect location. Basically the evening was contemporary jazz and they had some really good throw back songs requested. When it got closer to the end everybody was on our tiny little dance floor 2 stepping and dancing to Flo Rider, good thing the fire marshal wasn’t around!
